The party just had fun wading through acid.


Questing

Beyond the Skeleton Key door

BookToken.PNG Book mentions that we could fill up some vials with the acid. MerryToken.PNG Merry recalls he has the empty vial from the rogue that killed that guy. TempestToken.PNG Tempest suggests having MahinaToken.PNG Mahina fill them since the acid can’t hurt her.

MahinaToken.PNG Mahina mentions that the acid is very old and that the acid’s advanced age saved them. Had it been fresh, the party would have perished.

The party discusses what to do with MerryToken.PNG Merry’s dogs.

BookToken.PNG Book tells MerryToken.PNG Merry that it will take months for the poison acid to drain.

MahinaToken.PNG Mahina gets MerryToken.PNG Merry’s dogs while still immune to acid.

BookToken.PNG Book listens at the North and South doors and hears nothing. The party heads through the South door, which leads into a corridor, where there is a door on the East wall. It is a solid iron door that swings outward.

BookToken.PNG Book listens at the door and searches for traps, but hears nothing and finds nothing. MerryToken.PNG Merry checks for traps, but finds nothing.

The party decides to leave that door and goes through the North door instead. BookToken.PNG Book and MerryToken.PNG Merry search for traps and do not find any traps. The party continues North through the door. It leads to a long hallway that goes West.

Psi crystal & MahinaToken.PNG Mahina believe that there is a trap ahead.

BookToken.PNG Book summons a rat from his bag and sends it to walk across the trap. MerryToken.PNG Merry summons dancing lights to accompany it. Nothing happens to the rat so the party discusses how to trigger it.

UglyToken.PNG Ugly rips the door off. MerryToken.PNG Merry gives UglyToken.PNG Ugly a rope to tie on the door.

UglyToken.PNG Ugly ties the ropes and such as MerryToken.PNG Merry directs him.

UglyToken.PNG Ugly does a test throw but the door only goes a few feet in front of him.

BookToken.PNG Book bribes UglyToken.PNG Ugly with gold to throw the door on the trap.

UglyToken.PNG Ugly keeps missing the throw, including dropping it on his toe. He finally succeeds. The floor breaks away beneath the door as it falls and it clatters down the opening.

BookToken.PNG Book sends his crystal down it, the party hovers the torch over the opening.

The door is broken over one of the spikes in the 20 ft deep spike pit (10x10x20).

BookToken.PNG Book pays UglyToken.PNG Ugly 10 gold.

The party discusses how to get past the pit.

MahinaToken.PNG Mahina casts produce flame and tosses both flame balls into the bit, igniting the spikes. The party now has a flaming spike pit.

The area is getting smoky. UglyToken.PNG Ugly punches the smoke.

MahinaToken.PNG Mahina goes away from the party a bit, sits down, and writes in her journal.

BookToken.PNG Book tosses his stone over so it can look around on the other side of the pit.

BookToken.PNG Book suggests we leave the stone & try another door.

BookToken.PNG Book informs everyone that there is yet another trap further down the hallway past the trap.

BookToken.PNG Book tells everyone that the tower is a great deal south & a little further east.

BookToken.PNG Book’s rock continues exploring. Meanwhile, the fire has gone out in the pit.

TempestToken.PNG Tempest jumps across the pit once the rope is tied around her & UglyToken.PNG Ugly holds tightly to the rope. She barely misses it and has to climb up the rest of the way.

TempestToken.PNG Tempest & MerryToken.PNG Merry make a footbridge and the party starts crossing.

BookToken.PNG Book makes it across and steps forward, falling into another pit trap.

The party fishes a slightly-impaled BookToken.PNG Book out of the pit

UglyToken.PNG Ugly jumps, misses, grabs the edge, pulls himself up

UglyToken.PNG Ugly climbs down the new pit, gets a stake in the butt, then starts whacking stakes and collects 6 of them. He tosses them back up and we all make it back to the other hall.

They go to the other door and decide what to do.

The door to the East has a force field in front of it, door is closed - there is a lever that has a chain and a lock on it holding it in the upward position outside of the force field

The door to the West is open, and has a lever, but the chain is broken(?) and lever is down(?). There are bones through the door.


The Gas Chamber

The party sees a chamber with a magic mouth in the wall.

MahinaToken.PNG Mahina steps forward to talk to it and as soon as she steps near it, it starts screaming “YOU CAN’T BREATHE!” and poison gas starts filling the room.

The party runs from the room and escapes!

TempestToken.PNG Tempest gets the feeling that the person who built this was a seasoned adventurer who thinks a lot like the party in general does.


Back Into The Corridor

The party tries to decide their next move.

They see the room with the forcefield. It looks like a dormitory, complete with dead bodies.

BookToken.PNG Book sends in his psicrystal. It sees a third dead body.

UglyToken.PNG Ugly goes into the room. MahinaToken.PNG Mahina sits outside in the hallway with TempestToken.PNG Tempest and writes in her journal.

BookToken.PNG Book excitedly walks into the library.

MerryToken.PNG Merry detects magic and BookToken.PNG Book detects psionics. They find 2 magic potions, a magic wand, and one psionic want.

They find 33 gold, 22 silver in their own pouches.

Psicrystal hears nothing behind the door.

The door is locked. UglyToken.PNG Ugly uses the key to unlock the door.

The psicrystal finds a Facebook guy in the room, but he is completely immobile and behind a forcefield.

Guy has no eyes but otherwise looks like a normal 5’7” man. His eyes are wounds & he’s wearing a robe.

BookToken.PNG Book tries to mindlink and there is nothing there. So we believe he is probably undead.

MahinaToken.PNG Mahina pulls the lever to bring back down the forcefield. She peeks in the room & the rest of the party tells her that she’s doing a great job outside. So she shrugs and goes back to the hallway to write in her journal.

The party contemplates what to do next.


Eyeless Guy

The guy hangs his head down and starts to take a step forward, mumbling something in a language we don’t understand.

He starts to walk towards the door. BookToken.PNG Book yells at him. The guy looks frightened.

MerryToken.PNG Merry casts Calm Emotions but it doesn’t affect undead.

It sounds like an old dialect of languages we kind of, almost know but we could not understand what he was mumbling.

He starts to back up a little and reaches out.

TempestToken.PNG Tempest meets his reach and touches his hand. He is surprised to feel a warm, feminine grasp. He looks even more surprised when the party starts talking.

BookToken.PNG Book says hi to him in all languages he knows.

BookToken.PNG Book has established a mindlink with the guy from the past. It appears that they are having a conversation that the rest of the party cannot hear.

BookToken.PNG Book relays the conversation to the rest of the party sans MahinaToken.PNG Mahina.

From the information they gathered with their new ally, it seems they must go through the windy tunnel to reach the tower’s master.

The Tower Master had crazy amount of potions, guy gives other information about the tower. The party rests and talks to their new friend to help him acclimate to everything.
