Bards

While many Alexandrian bards fill the typical social and political role normally attributed to the class, bards here have another specific role. Alexandrian clerics must abide by a special restriction--the XXXX--that prevents them in participating in wars between goodly races. As a result, clerics are severely restricted in serving in military conflicts between nations. Since Druids are a rarity indeed, this leaves Bards as the only viable option for magical healing on the battlefield. As a result, Bards are a common part of any military or mercenary organizations, and many members of this class find wealth, fame, and experience in such outfits.
