A collection of Gentry-Nobility that maintained powerful familial dynasties in Wydmoor Free City prior to its sacking by Odessa in 1401 FI. By and large, these were families of high standing who supported Odriss Rockheart during the Third Interregnum. Most were prominent guildsmen, plantation owners, religious officials, and manufacturers, and together they have essentially run the domestic affairs of Wydmoor Free City and the surrounds for the past seven centuries. Although their wealth and power seems to have been all but shattered with the collapse of the bank and destruction of the city, a great number of survivors still endure, many having taken shelter with relations and allies in Ubrekt and elsewhere.

A great deal of their power came from being active or passive stakeholders in the Bank of Wydmoor, as well as their hold stakes in the mining operations of Iros Forge. The seven Founding Families of Wydmoor tied their interests together in the first days of the rebellion by splitting evenly control of these institutions, and that tenuous cement holds to this day. As the bank no longer operates, and the Red Iron mines have been solidly in Odessan hands for two years now, these families have all faced ruination to one degree or another.

  • Note: Naprid Daithe is not a "Wydmoor Daithe," but rather is from the older Ubrekti Daithe family of which the Wydmoor Daithes are an offshoot.
