Nia-Agliare is located on high cliffs overlooking the Bay of Shallows, and it is connected to the wider Chrysanthemum Gulf through the deepwater ports of Whitemist Harbor on Archer Sound.

Once the prosperous capital of Alexia, now Nia-Agliare and its satellites are commonly referred to as the Bandit Kingdom for their lawlessness and desperation. The city's population is half of what it was a generation ago, and although it is nominally the seat of power of Alexia, the people of Nia-Agliare have been more or less cut off from their western cousin for decades.
