So, are the oracles actually children, or do they just take that form? -Slitherrr 14:55, 5 December 2009 (EST)

there are no longer oracles, there is not even that level of contact anymore. At the time they were just kids, snatched up from their famlies as soon as the connection was detected. -gm
So the oracles didn't last very long, I suppose. What would happen to them once they were no longer children?- Slitherrr 23:29, 5 December 2009 (EST)
yeah, usually by 14 or so whatever made a kid an oracle had been used up. Generally they went into a sort of protective custody from the oracular paladins - many never recovered from the loss of of divine contact. Since the various oracular organizations were quite wealthy, it was no problem taking care of ex-oracles. In fact, it was seen as something of a duty. Oracles needed to be taught to live without thing like true sight and divination at will. Suicides, depression, and chem abuse were all common, though a small minority were able to refocus on something else and achieve some measure of renown, often as oracular paladins themselves. The paladins, as it happens, were ultimately loyal to the children, not the gods. When Arek began to turn the oracles during the prophets war, their paladins ultimately followed suit, becoming blackguards. -gm
