Our heroes found themselves at the base of a forthouse that squatly overlooks the surrounding foothills. While preparing to ambush the two unsuspecting Kobold guards, a mysterious Fresian stranger appeared from nowhere and walked in, completely uncaring of the guards, who seemed to fear him immensely.

After having digested this new information, the adventurers plowed over the duo, after setting up an ingenious injured-Kobold performance. The Kobolds' well-crafted equipment caught the party's eye for a second, but more pressing matters urged them forward.

After running into a stone trap in the first room, the party proceeded a bit more cautiously into the next. An amazing pair of rolls shows Thed disarming a magical trap at the max difficulty he could have disarmed it on, then another more average pair allows him to disarm another trap in the next hall. They came across a door with voices speaking in Fresian. Thoven's knowledge of the language allowed him to pick up the conversation between the long-pursued Masked Gnome and the newly discovered Fresian adversary, in which they detailed an upcoming raid meant to procure more kobolds, for an unknown purpose. After finishing the conversation, the Fresian disappeared the same way he appeared, and the Masked Gnome returned to his business.

After listening to the gnome work for a bit (and alerting him to their presence by trying the door), the four plucky heroes charged in. Kib quickly took a shot from the Gnome's crossbow, then fell to a stiletto sneak attack that he really should have seen coming, but Gil's raging hammer swat quickly ended what was left of the combat. Their foe finally subdued (and stabilized), the party now sits in the room, preparing to defend themselves against the fortress's inhabitants, as well as for a long sit-down with the leather-wearing miscreant.

Exp: 150 for Kobolds, 400 for Gnome, 500 for objective, 200 for wedding (half on everything for Gil, and he doesn't get the wedding bonus).

Thed got 150 and 40 for trap disarming, Thoven got some amount for disguise.

Loot: Two pouches from the kobolds, filled with silver coins. The gnome carried three scrolls, a wand, a pouch of coins, a masterwork light repeating crossbow (small size), black leather masterwork armor (magical after using a gnome detect magic), ring (magical after detect), and a masterwork stiletto, small size. In his room were scattered papers written in an unknown language (using Dwarven rune), and a chest filled with Wydmoor electrum coins.
