Since they think everyone else is kind of dim, they usually overcompensate and go for very simple, monosyllable words. It&amp;#039;s not any sort of hard and fast rule, of course, but I assume that when I see gnomes with boring names that it&amp;#039;s sort of like a Chinese adopting some white-bread english name because they&amp;#039;re tired of dealing with people trying to wrestle with their &amp;quot;real&amp;quot; name. ;) &lt;br /&gt;
