It is a weightless, but corporeal (a bit spongy) sphere of about 18 inches in diameter. It emits a light as a double-strength continual light spell. Additionally, creatures who rest in its glow heal at double rate (it is not known whether this stacks with use of the healing skill).
Its removal triggered the appearance of shadows on the archipelago that contained the lighthouse. Its relationship to those shadows is not completely known.
