Mindsight

Holy cow this feat is bent. Since the Mindsight feat you linked requires the Telepathy ability, I'd have to rule it's not something fit for the Psicrystal yet. That being said, when the Psicrystal gets the Telepathic Speech ability in a couple levels, the wording for that is almost identical to Telepathy and would qualify. I really dislike this feat in general, but if you want to pick it up later based upon Telepathic Speech then that makes for a more appropriate timing. -Mattie

Sure. I actually agree 100% as to this reading. It was my feeling, too, as well as a good number of the Usual Suspects. I think I just forgot about that when I was moving the feats around some time ago. Honestly, if I had it to do over again, I would not have bothered with the psycrystal at all. Also, I might be wrong about this when push comes to shove, but I think you'll find the feat is not nearly as disruptive or OP as you are fearing due primarily to the telepathic speech (and therefore the Mindsight) only having a 30' range radius. I think it's also reasonable that spells/powers/items things that cloak a mind from telepathy also cloak a min from Mindsight. • By this point, book might want to pick up the Respec Telepath Power (level 4) and burn the XP to respec as a Cerebremancer, without a stone, and using the spell that converts spell castings into PSPs for some really munchkin-y fun. By then, the stone can be replaced by Clairvoyance, etc.
