Power?
Up to 50 hp of damage for a level 4 spell, maximum five per target? Seems kinda low even if it's unerring. I'm sure someone else has thought of that, though, so maybe my initial impression is flawed. -Slitherrr
- Hm? Up to 50 points of damage, followed by up to 5 damage to up to 10 other creatures. What do you mean, "5 per target"? FWIW, unerring, damage reduction bypassing damage is highly weighted on the spell balancing front.
- Ah, the terminology there made it sound like the initial target was only hit by a single missile, and then the secondary targets were also only hit by one, but that makes sense now. -Slitherrr
- I like this spell a lot -- in numbers it looks like it comes out to (at best) a double-missile magic missile with 4x the range. -Mattie
Reworded
- Reworded it for the sake of user experience (because D&D is totally about user-friendly :D). On a related note, does the "spell reduction prevents secondary missils" effect also apply if the missiles are eradicated via Shield? It's fairly obvious that it would, but I wanted to make sure. -Slitherrr
- Yeah, ALL of the missiles hit the main target, then up to one missile each can hit anyone within 30 feet of that target. If the original is blocked, no secondary missiles fire. -gm
- I reworded this at the same time Slitherrr was rewording it. I tried to merge all three versions into one which I think reads more clearly. I'll defer to you two going forward, though, if you prefer an earlier version or to make more tweaks. -Mattie
- I like yours best, hands-down. Overwriting ain't no thang--that's what history is for.-Slitherrr
