Ancestral Relic General

Summary
You own an ancestral heirloom and can invest it with increasing power.
Prerequisites
Any good alignment, character level 3rd.
Benefit
Choose an item you own. The item must be of masterwork quality, and it must be an item that had a strong connection to your family or a person connected to you (such as a leader in your religious order).

At any time, you may visit a sacred or hallowed place and mediate/pray to wake the spirits in your ancestral relic. This prayer requires a sacrifice of valuable items worth the difference between the value of your current relic and the market price for the item it will become. You can use gold or you can sacrifice magic items or other goods worth the required amount. Magic items sacrificed this way contribute at their full market value rather than half value if you sold them. The sacrifice requires 1 day per 1,000 gp value you wish to sacrifice. During this time, you spend 8+ hours each day in prayer, not stopping to eat or rest.

A character's level dictates the maximum value of his or her ancestral relic, as shown in the table in the notes.
Special
No character may have more than one ancestral relic.
