Team Mefight Second Session

Our heroes find themselves among the recently fallen, the strange gnome gone. They round up the bodies, scavenging some copper pieces from the bandits, and gold pieces and documents from the brothers. The documents implicate that Thoven has at some point been a smuggler, but little is made of this new information. After quickly burying the bodies, the group decides to make its way to the nearby Traveler's Highway.

Once on the highway, our erstwhile squad ran into a group of the holy order charged with protecting the Highway. After exchanging pleasantries and information, and having them spot the gnome following them, they continue on, spending the night in a waystation.

The next day, just after overtaking a caravan carrying kobold slaves, a mysterious masked gnome confronted the caravan. Despite efforts to prevent bloodshed, a fierce battle broke out, ending with the deaths of all the members of the caravan, and the near-deaths of the adventuring party. Eight kobold slaves escaped, although nearly as many died in the attack. The masked gnome also managed narrowly to get away.

The squad of paladins encountered the previous day happened upon the scene shortly after, and decided to escort our jaunty expeditionaries to the city of Kred, where they now find themselves waiting for the next leg of the adventure.
