Fortress Infiltration

  • The group begins to explore the fortress. Off the hallway where Trog was killed are barracks, the dining hall.
  • The hallway, the barracks, and the dining room are filled with dead animals, dwarves, and the corpses of zombified dwarves.
  • Further down the hallway, the group discovers an intersection, with the wall covered in blood.
  • There are directions to various parts of the fortress here. The group decides to head to the Sheriff's office as a secure place to rest.
  • The Sheriff's office has 8 kobolds in it; the group dispatches them. The Sheriff's quarters reveals a dwarf who hung himself.

Negotiations

  • The group fortifies the office and attempts to rest.
  • Rest is interrupted by the arrival of a Hobgoblin, who has come to negotiate on behalf of the kobold chieftain.
  • The Hobgoblin is an Ambassador from Monster Town to the kobolds of Draglet, who has stepped in to negotiate the group leaving the fortress before further loss of life occurs. The party discusses and realizes that pressing on will be difficult.
  • The kobolds offer 100 platinum to each member of the group to leave. The group asks for a piece of star iron as well. However, the star iron is gone.
  • The party decides to leave Draglet, after penetrating about 100 feet of the fortress. The next destination will be Kred, and the kobolds ask that the party deliver the message that the kobolds wouldn't mind opening up relations with the dwarves.

The Road to Kred

  • On the Road to Kred, the party is ambushed by Owlbears while in camp.
  • Despite the Owlbears having surprise, the party is able to fend them off relatively easily.


XP and Treasure

  • +22 platinum from the kobolds
  • +100 platinum each for leaving Draglet
  • +160 XP for kobolds in Sheriff's office
  • +150 XP for escape from Draglet
  • +25 XP to Thurmin for quick thinking use of command spell
  • +500 XP for the Owlbear ambush
