The Obelisks were great magical artifacts created by the Eight Makers before their final battle against the Dark Lords, the remnants of which can still be seen to this day. For centuries, their purpose and power remained cloaked in mystery, and to this day their specifics are nebulous and poorly understood. Likewise, where they came from is equally mysterious, though most sages speculate they were created and placed by a far-thinking Eight Makers.
