"Only Once" is the standard reply to oaths and prayers taken by the Hakani Gnomes, as well as a catchall-idiom for Gnomish life. A typical prayer of memorial or regret "How many times have we failed Old Hakan?", while one before battle might be something along the lines of "How often shall we offer mercy?". It might also be offered in lieu of "I'm sorry" as an apology, as well, since Gnomish Culture values demonstrations of learning from mistakes far more than demonstrations of remorse feelings for them.o
