Quinalin's Last Stand

The party had gathered together so that we could teleport out to safety. Only Mose was left next to the dragon. Seeing this, Quinalin rushed into battle, probably knowing that he was sacrificing himself so that his companions may live. The dragon grabbed Quinalin in a giant claw, and thrashed him violently. We tried once more to defeat the dragon, but our efforts were in vain and we were forced to teleport away. With the immediate threat gone, the dragon, still holding Quin, burrowed 50ft into the earth, burying him. Of course, Quin had several feats/abilities/buffs, and it soon became apparent to the dragon that Quin just. wasn't. dying. Buried alive, 50ft below the earth, and still alive! His fast healing, unbroken(?) status, and high constitution enraged the dragon, who began hammering away at him. Some of the group were able to return using LE's teleport, and Kaylee tried burrowing down toward the dragon to get its attention away from Quin, but the dragon simply earthshaped the stone around her, nullifying her burrowing ability. Fortunately, Kaylee was able to dimension door out to safety, and the group, having no other options left to save Quinalin's life, teleported away one final time. Eventually, Quin, bleeding from a thousand wounds, lost consciousness and presumably suffocated in the bedrock of the Underdark. In that moment, the psionic link between Quin and Kaylee - and through her, the rest of the Silverwalkers - was broken forever.

The song of Quinalin's heroic last stand, however, will live on for eternity.
