Wands?

The wording is somewhat ambiguous. Can you clarify in the feat text whether this applies to wands that include die rolls in their spell effects? -Mattie

You mean, in the case of a Wand of Cure Light Wounds, can this feat be used to reroll the 1d8 + 1? I would imagine yes--there are precious few items that would get a benefit from this feat otherwise (although a Deck of Many Things might be pretty killer in the hands of a Gnome). -Slitherrr
I actually assumed it didn't and that this was similar to the old school Wild Mage ability. I've seen someone port that wild mage stuff as Student of Chaos (Ex): Whenever a wild mage uses a magic item that offers a randomly determined effect (such as Bag of Trick or Rod of Wonder), he can roll twice and choose between the two results.
The Wondrous Items that I suspect this would apply to would be: Bag of Tricks, Deck of Illusions, Deck of Many things, Robe of Useful Items, and Well of Many Worlds. It would be quite awesome if it applies to wands, but if it does, it's pretty durned powerful. -Mattie
My problem with assuming that is that most of those items run out of charges, meaning you'd be spending an entire feat to get better efficiency out of expendable items that are pretty expensive (Deck of X), or don't get that much actual use from the feat (Bag of Tricks, where the creature can be ordered back into the bag anyway, or Well of Worlds, where you can just pick up and put down the hole again as many times as you like). You're right, though, that the other assumption makes this feat pretty super [also, to note, Robe of Useful Items probably doesn't count, because the items in it are generated when the item is created, not when it is used]-Slitherrr
The Rod of Wonder is an exception to all of my above paragraph, though. Super-nice. It'd be akin to taking exotic weapon proficiency (although I think that feat is a complete gyp).-Slitherrr
Also, and I'm barraging this because I'm about to leave and keep thinking of stuff after submit, Gilerl's Axe. -Slitherrr

It only works on magic items with random rolls, not UMD rolls. Wands of wonder, rods of wonder, wild magic stuff, anything like that. I would accept that it would work on the Axe.

It is as Mattie says. It's pretty much a straight up lift of that feat.
