I Reorganized this page to make the storytelling part more sensible --Msallen 10:19, 16 December 2009 (EST)

Of all the people to start FF. If you work in edrell slash, you're done here. ;) -gm

"Gil and Holm were pathetic, yes, but tender, almost kind. Germain had often wondered what it would have been like, to explore their softer sides in a lonely moment."-Slitherrr
I still have interrogating to do! What did your NPC in Danrel's wardhouse say when I was interrogating Gil, Matt? "Do ye want me to do 'em with a broomstick, or more natural like? The later will cost ye more." --Msallen 16:29, 15 December 2009 (EST)
And you kept that in your notes, verbatim. A proud moment. That guy was just a sociopath, you know that particular ward was not so carefully maintained. Or, are you saying you want to go find that guy again? -gm

PS. I don't have gmail at work, and this might be a fun way to RP the interrogation. I'll let you know when I want you to take over, Matt. --Msallen 16:29, 15 December 2009 (EST)

haha, however you want to do it. This could be interesting, and I'm always up for new things. -gm

Also: Isn't LE tall and wan? Hardly a fireplug. She could probably kill you. -gm

Everyone in the party could kill me. That doesn't mean I can't think they are cute. --Msallen 18:30, 15 December 2009 (EST)
Argh, the former writer in me cringes! "Fireplug" is someone short and stout and tough, not someone who is cute. Also, you want I should just make you some intimidate, diplo, and associated checks, and tell you what you come up with so you can add to the story? -gm
Well, that's why I fixed it! Up to you how you do the mechanics part of it. PS. L2Log in you shmuck --Msallen 09:19, 16 December 2009 (EST)
Logging in is beneath me. Consider me a intimidating, disembodied voice from heaven. At least I remember to sign my stuff. -gm
You have to do it once and check the box for "keep me logged in". Even you could manage. --Msallen 10:19, 16 December 2009 (EST)
LE is hardly tall (unless you mean by halfling standards), but probably wan. -sarah 14:19, 28 December 2009 (EST)
ps. she could most likely kill him. Rush 14:22, 28 December 2009 (EST)
Probably so. Run the simulations, you have all the data you need now! -gm
I'm pretty sure any player from any party can kill g-man. he's a total wimp. --Msallen 15:21, 28 December 2009 (EST)

Storytelling Shit

Done... your turn. I put parenthesis for the skill checks I would do and to give some direction to what I'm doing. Augment those parts if there is something you think I would care about. Don't feel like you have to write a lot--this part was just a setup. We can work on it as a dialog back and forth if it makes sense to you. --Msallen 18:30, 15 December 2009 (EST)

I'll start with the listen check, then percolate for the rest. Next game isn't till Jan 6, so I have a feeling you'll get a good interrogation.
Spot Check (13+7 = 20) Quin has done a thorough job binding them. The three unconscious ones are in one corner, and Cinnamon - who is still conscious - is crammed in one corner. There is no indication that any of them are making any headway toward escaping. The appear to pose no threat.
Listen (7+7 = 14) You hear the ambient noise of a disused grist mill. The creaking of wooden crankshafts, the scampering of rodents, etc.
Diplomacy (14+12 = 26) Cinnamon drinks the wine. She is suspicious and wary, but not exactly hostile. (Sense Motive roll - (17+10 = 27)
Is this a commit? Ball in my court? --Msallen 10:19, 16 December 2009 (EST)
THE KOOL-AID MAN JUMPS IN AND SAYS, "OOOH YEAH!" -gm
(Just kidding) -Slitherrr-gm
Heh, heh. Yeah, those are are rolls so far. Didn't want to work too hard.
sodomy check --Msallen 10:36, 16 December 2009 (EST) (simul-edit ftw -Slitherrr)
Germain takes 20s on those, I think. He's very thorough. -gm
"Leave no bone disinterred" ;) Can I tell if she is lucid enough to talk? Ie. is she quiet because she doesn't want to talk, or quiet because she is still dazed? --Msallen 11:31, 16 December 2009 (EST)

Commit. Just trying to coax a little info out while I have Cinny alone. If she doesn't talk, just let me know. --Msallen 12:00, 16 December 2009 (EST)

Futzing :| Help me out, Jonsey! --Msallen 11:09, 17 December 2009 (EST)
Yeah, gm, don't leave him hanging! -Slitherrr
He's probably forsaken us for pills and video games again. I would have. --Msallen 16:10, 17 December 2009 (EST)
Ha, some of us have to work at our day jobs, especially on the last day of school. Let me finish off Grither in the Civ 4 game then I'll get on this. -gm
Alright, impatient fuck and company -
[Initial Sense Motive: 23] she appears somewhat confused, with an underlying sense of tension. Very much a waiting for the next move sort of vibe.
[Diplomacy : 30], [Bluff: 15], [Sense Motive: 20]
You can tell your words are having an impact, and she looks like she is about to say something. She hesitates. "I know you can't keep me safe. No one can." -gm
If you are going to drop 16 names, please give me some links. I think some of those people worked at the platinum quill?
:) Alrighty, I can work with that. Katellian and Antishara are the Platinum quill crew. Valari and Quint are two shady guys I worked with when I was in Fynn's wardhouse in that curious incident where I subdued and bound some of the mayor's men and they turned up with their throats slit the next day. I'm just trying to get some names out there that I want to learn more about, hoping I can get a bit of info beyond just the immediate mantatlus/fynn situation. --Msallen 17:14, 17 December 2009 (EST)
Perfect. -gm

Commit. Not too bad for drunk and tired! --Msallen 10:24, 18 December 2009 (EST)

Drunk? At 10 in the morning? Someone takes the holiday season pretty seriously! -Slitherrr
First draft was at 2:45 am! Last night was banker holiday party--perhaps not the bacchanalia it would have been before the bailouts, but nothing to sneeze at either. --Msallen 11:21, 18 December 2009 (EST)
Alright, about to deal with your shit, then I'm going to get shellaxed, myself. Don't expect anything else useful from me today. (PS: I thought bank stocks were UP.) -gm
It's less about the money than keeping up appearances ;) Taxpayers don't want to see us parting and paying bonuses on their dime. We gotta take the turd that was the past 18 months, and paint it gold baby! --Msallen 13:40, 18 December 2009 (EST)
Also, for what it's worth, a UT fan thinks nothing about being blasted at 10am, as long as it's game day. GO VOLS! -gm

"I can't help you? . . . I could leave you with a few weapons, some gold, and most importantly your health. I could write you a letter that, if you are careful and considerate, might ease your travel with our friends in the Bog Wraiths and the River Folk. I could help you get to Sherdam where you might lie low for a while."

Diplomacy Check [+2 Circ Bonus] (26) Sense Motive (24)

You sense a change in her mood at this offer. (In a good way)

"If I had good information, I could quickly dispatch of the very people you fear. "

Diplomacy Check (No Bonus) [31] Bluff Check [19] (You gotta work on your buffs, mah man.) Sense Motive [29]

You sense that she still does not believe your offers in regards to this. In fact, you see a laughter in her eyes as she you mention killing her employers. Not a superior sort of laughter, but definitely derisive. There is a strong sense of fatalism here. "I have no doubt you'd try."

"do you think they still underestimate me? Do you?"

"Not for much longer, I should think, and to your misfortune."

"What is your name?" (26)

She reveals that her name is Cinnamon.

Sense Motive (Final) (29)

You get the feeling that your words are having an affect. This is not the resistance of Gil and Holm, full of arrogance and threat and bluster. What you see before you now is despair, loss, and hopelessness.

As it is written, so let it be.

-gm

NOW GET BLASTED, CHUM, AND MAKE SURE YOU RECOVER BEFORE SUNDAY. -Slitherrr
I actually just went to bed at 9:30. WOOO PARTY! -gm

Commit. I don't want to keep tossing dice at Cinny until I get a 1. I've got enough good checks there that she's about as good as it can get. --Msallen 18:48, 18 December 2009 (EST)

I'll make your placeholder text easy: ". . . ." Golgo-13 style.
Well, if it makes you feel better, there is no autofail/autosuccess for skills, so a 1 diplo roll is still a 15 for Germain. -gm
"Seal the deal" diplomacy roll : (31)
"Seal the deal" Sense motive : (18)
You sense her hopelessness shift from the despairing variety to the reckless variety. "I could use the company in hell. You have to promise to get me far out of the city *before nightfall*. You should leave, too. You have no idea how hunted you will be when night falls. If we're still here when the sun goes down, we're all dead."

Commit! So little free time this weekend. Oi!

 ?? -gm
Shit. Wikifail :( --Msallen 11:22, 21 December 2009 (EST)
Ok for reals. --Msallen 11:52, 21 December 2009 (EST)

Alright :

DC modifiers, meet Germain. Germain, meet DC modifiers. I expect you will not get along very well.

"All you have to do is cooperate with me. What do you think?" He concluded, in a warning tone, "think hard on your answer." "

Diplomacy (26); Sense Motive (21)

You realize almost immediately that waking the other three up and proposing them an offer was a severe miscalculation. They are through and true Company Men, and Cinammon clearly is the lowest status person of the group. Not only are they resist helping you you, they begin to heckle and ridicule Cinammon, referencing what happened to Gil tormented final weeks, shattering her own morale. You're pretty sure what is driving Cinammon's new reluctance, but you're unclear now as to what drove her to agreed in the first place.

Diplomancy (31); Sense Motive (14)

He turned again towards Cinnamon, his mind turning towards strategy. He could at least count on a few solid pieces of information now. "I would think it would be best to strike now, before they have time to react to the news of today. But you think we should go on the defensive? Why? What could be important enough to give them control of the battlefield?"

Cinammon's eyes dart wildly between you and the three theives, who continue to whisper dire threats of retribution to both of you. She says nothing.

- Merry Christmas. You overplayed your hand like a son-of-a-bitch, sorry. -gm

Well, I wouldn't say I overplayed it. I assumed I wouldn't have a chance to get info out of Cinny before the other three woke up, so I figured winning them over was a necessity. If I knew you were playing softball from the beginning, I wouldn't have bothered.
In any case, they are fools. Poor bastards.
Wait, I'm confused. I thought you woke them up to try to enlist their help, as well? -gm
Simul-edit! This is what OtherMatt had before it got edited away: Oh, a few questions. Can I tell which one is the most loyal to the company? Can I tell which one (aside from Cinny) is the most meek? How much time do I have before dark?
By the way, if you pay close attention, it should bring up an "Edit Conflict" screen if you try to save a page that has been edited while you were making changes. If it's not, then I'm not sure what's going on, because I've seen it a couple of times. -98.244.67.155
I have seen that window as well. -gm
Can I tell which one is the most loyal to the company? Sense Motive (28) - They are equally loyal and resistant.
How much time do I have before dark: Survival (12) - This has not taken that long, but it the days are still short. Maybe three hours, three and a half until total sunset? -gm
Also, my mother's nickname for him is "clueless", don't expect him to notice the simu-edit just because of a four inch, yellow EDIT CONFLICT banner that pops up.
Ha! -98.244.67.155 (Slitherrr again... maybe I should log in while I'm at my in-laws')
The 'alleged yellow banner! My opinion is you screwed up the edit ;) --Msallen 10:14, 28 December 2009 (EST)
I have no doubt you so allege. Aren't I waiting on you to type some shit? We only have two weeks! -gm
I know. Christmas was no free time, and today has been teh sux at work and life --Msallen 11:41, 28 December 2009 (EST)
Don't we have a game this weekend? -gm

Commit, finally. If Cinny really is the low man on the totem pole (or, as I understand it, the high one, since the lowest figures were most important) then Germain will try to do it up like the British colonialists and put her in charge.

Diplo Roll : 12+14 =26

Thieves: "Who the hell is Mantatlus, man?"

Additionally, Cinnamon seems to blanch and maybe give a meep of complaint whenever you talk about how cooperative she is.

Sense Motive Roll : 5 + 10 = 15

They appear to not know who Mantatlus is.

Bonus Sense Motive Roll : 5 + 10 = 15

Cinnamon looks antsy. She seems very interested in the sun and its position in the sky.

Where's the slash?

Good story, but where in the hell is the Germ/Ed slash? I'm disappointed! ;) --HelenAngel 19:45, 11 January 2010 (EST)

I haven't finished! Why do you think he was so drunk? HE WAS TRYING TO FORGET! --Msallen 09:40, 12 January 2010 (EST)
