Talk:Track

So, in the survival skill description, it talks about identifying race/kind of creature with a 60 on the roll. If you ask me, that's absurdly high. Even discounting the (possibly false) claims of some people to be able to tell whether or not a creature has a cold by its tracks, being able to tell whether a track was made by a x creature should be well within non-legendary abilities. At the very least, telling the type of the creature (humanoid, giant-kin, reptillian humanoid, demon, etc) should be in the DC 20 range, and telling the race should probably be no higher than 30. It's even reasonable to talk about wound levels--it's relatively easy to tell even with almost no experience tracking when something is limping heavily, so perhaps it's reasonable that detecting that a creature is at or below 10% hp takes a DC 20, 25% a DC 25, and so on (perhaps capped at a certain level, or at least becoming harder in a non-linear fashion, as injuries affect pace less). -Slitherrr 10:33, 15 November 2009 (EST)
