The Testimonial of Kivan is the shortest and most abstract of the Testimonials, written by Kivan Elyryn, marshal of Alexandria's Elk-Riders. It is actually made up of two distinct chapters.

The first is a succinct, almost diary-like account of the events leading up to Alexandria's final assault, while the second chronicles the assault on the Kingdom of Shadow itself, including Alexandria's eventual betrayal, martyrdom, and ascension. Much of this second section is told out of sequence, and some parts are seen as prophetic.
