: O.o Square Enix directly ported tactics and a lot of the early FF games to iOS. *Good* is not a term commonly associated with their port, but it is complete. I looked into it, but I understand it has a wonky touch interface and really shitty text rendering, but it's still tactics.

= I bought Catan when it was on sale for like 2.00, and I know there is Carcassone on Phone/Pad that sarah also plays. I am waiting for a good version of FF: Tactics for the Pad. I mostly play two tower defense games. One thing written by some Chinese guy I got when it was on sale for a dollar, and Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave.

Civilization Revolution

Assassin's Creed: Recollections

A CCG with a decent real-time mechanic and multi-player support (although I can't seem to find opponents). Many players complained that they couldn't get through starter missions without buying packs. I was able to with minimal repetition, and had enough cards to make two reasonably distinct and successful deck types at the end. Since most of you are better at CCGs than me, you should be able to get 10 hours of game out of it for 3 bucks, which is a good deal.

Dungeon Raid

A match-3 RPG is way better than it sounds, and it sounds pretty good. My mother got addicted to this.

Pocket RPG

It's a diablo-like RPG with randomized dungeon map. It trashes your inventory at the end of each level (with is, like, 4 random maps and a boss), which bothers some people, but for me it basically prevents me from grinding, which I always do even though I hate it.

Squids

This one is an RPG with an angry birds mechanic for flinging your party around. It's fun, the game is really pretty, and the plot/characters/dialogue are cute. My officemate complained that it was repetative, so given my weakness for grinding, your mileage may vary.
