Talk:King Mab's Axe

Can the secondary effect be dismissed and re-cast in subsequent rounds to try to get the wanted effect, or is it "stuck" for the duration? If the axe is passed to another person while the effect is happening, does it transfer that effect as well? -slitherrr (talk)

I feel like the ideal would be, "you have to hold the axe in your hands until the effect expires, and it is not dismissable", theme-wise. But that's not fantastic rules-wise. What if we made it a will save to try to get it to do the one you want, but then you had to accept whatever effect came up for the full ten minutes? -slitherrr (talk)
The weapon casts the spell effect on the wielder then it's done. In my mind, it sticks for the duration, but by the rules of how spell-effect items work it would be cast as the spell, so at the very least would be (D)ismissable, although I think that's not a free action. That wouldn't undo the use of the item's ability, for that matter. So, honestly, it's fine if it's a dismissable effect - loss the +1 of the weapon and a standard action. Since you probably are using this ability while "in the shit," those are not marginal costs. Or, you know, you just suck up being tiny and make the best of it which is also interesting. -gm
Well, for the people using a greataxe, I don't know about interesting really--tiny gilerl loses attacks of opportunity and goes down a die and -1/-2 to damage for the sake of +2 to AC. Now if there were rules for throwing him into enemies' faces, on the other hand... -slitherrr (talk)
