Oooo... Mattie. You were holding out on me! Thanks for posting that! --146.127.253.12

Based on our conversation with the Dwarf mercenary, I was hoping to get some of the following sorts of information. I'm expecing not to get many details, particularly on some of these points:

  • timeline of the invasion
  • details of the attack (the observable strategies, significant events, resistence, etc)
  • activities at iros forge (mining, shipping, obviously sustaining rituals, etc)
  • major actors (generals, seargants, mercenary captains)
  • hobgoblins? wtf?

--Msallen

Sure, some of this he might be willing to give. -gm
What's his name, anyway? Anyone remember?
He was Magth. -Mattie

The weather actually started out as an evil, icy rain that disrupted everything for some number of weeks before the rapid rise in temperature. The storm seemed to be centered on Iros Forge, though, FWIW. Well, technically, all three of the major seafaring nations have beefy weather mages, none is particularly more renown than another. Odessan Ship's Mages are primarily first class evokers first and foremost. Also: This is a good article -gm

Yeah, there is too much for me to keep up with if I don't make some notes. Germain is going batshit trying to figure out who's fingers are in this. This page is styled after the Kathkallan Investigation entry I used to reason that out. --Msallen
I think this is a good idea, actually. I think it's good to keep a Quest Chain thread independent of the session notes. You'll be thankful, trust me. -gm
Excellent speculation. About time Germain pulls his weight. -gm
Germain paid his way in arrows last game! --Msallen

Heh. Where would you put significant stuff about the assassinations? Death Toll: (after a day or two this would be available thru the Ring of Tweets or the Firetalk Figurine.

  • City Council Members (11 of 18) [Mostly mayor's men, but, after all, he has the most supporters with seats.]
  • Exchequer of the Bank [This guy is pretty important. An Exchequer is sort of like a medieval treasurer and accountant.]
  • Failed Attempts : Calvis Wydsomme, Edrell Odenthorpe, Dandrell, possibly others unreported. (The Mayor is not being terribly open about his losses)
You don't have to make every comment a reply! --Msallen
I think I figured out why it was always deleting - I was editing and saving outdated versions. Sorry. -gm
Aaaa. I just assumed you clicked edit and then held the edit frame open for an hour or two before you saved. --Msallen

This thing is a goddamn novel and its not even done :| --Msallen

Yeah, I am particularly proud of this campaign. -gm
I know how you love to wing it! You are probably figuring out how everything was related yourself, and you'll co-opt my paranoid speculations if they are good ;) --Msallen
eh? I've had the particulars of this campaign mapped out since day one. -gm
Likely story --Msallen
well, when I hang myself at work one day, ask genie for the spoilers, I've been telling her The Campaign at least thru post-invasion. I have rough sketches for both parties up thru maybe level 15. I had the Alexandria campaign similarly mapped. I figure I have maybe 2-3 years worth of material for maybe up to four groups. -GM
To say nothing of already sketching out the New Character Reboots
Looks like I hit a sore point? You've always had campaigns planned out 15 levels in advance, and you typically wing smaller story arcs. Apologies if this time isn't like all the others ;) --Msallen
Heh, not a sore point, and you are certainly right. Though, to be fair, I learned long ago that you have to do a lot of winging it regardless of how much planning you do - PCs don't take to rails very well, and when I got sick of planning detailed encounters that parties invariably bypass to explore the building I didn't sketch out. ;) -gm
LOL! We are no doubt difficult PCs! --Msallen
