Questing
In Our Last Episode
31 HeavenFall
- Party finds the lizardmen camp and sees half-and-half orcs and lizardmen
- Party frees the lizardmen from the orcs!
In this Episode
- (Party retroactively gave up 8 longswords and 200 gp for town refugee infiltration maneuver
- Party hangs out in the lizard man camp for a while, Al talking to the pseudo-leader lizardman (Ranger).
- Lizard man pseudo-leader tells Al that the chieftain can be revived from being bathed in the blood of the Multi-headed Wyrm
- It's an important spirit of the swamp
- He tells us not to kill it, but it is weak to fire he said
- Party camps out in the camp there with the Lizardmen
- Quinalin calls Naprid and tells him of progress.
- No word yet circulating about the Mayor's death
- Siege has started on the Wydmoor :(
32 HeavenFall
- Quinalin crafts a makeshift sled to drag the chieftain's body on
- Party travels south to the hydra's temple, without confrontation
- Party tries to force march, but doesn't quite make it. Stops for the night
1 Period of Renewal
- Party finds an entrance beneath the temple underground
- Rust trails are discovered going into that entrance. Chittering is heard, party suspects some monster that eats metal.
- Quinalin makes some wooden weapons for him and Mose, but they leave their armor on
- Quinalin throws a dagger at a monster, it immediately turns to rust!
- Quinalin lost his expensive armor to a rust monster! OMG!
- LE uses Blur scroll on Mose 20% miss chance, to reduce chance of rust monsterdom
- Party fights and kills lots of rust monsters, they also run away.
- Rust monsters almost touch the Haversack of Holding's buckles, but Mose barely manages to dodge them.
Rust Monster Infestation

- The party sees some damage to the stone, on closer inspection looks like cold damage instead, and leads upwards
- Mose instead decides to look through another area, and walks in
- Mose finds himself engulfed in a gelatinous cube, completely paralyzed, getting hurt each round.
- Party figures out Mose is in trouble and blasts/chops him out.
- They continue deeper in, find a black pudding.
- The party finds another black pudding, splits it, fireballs it, flaming spheres it, and kills it.
Rust Monster Infestation

- Old broken chest is found, glimmer in it. Quinalin inspects it carefully.
- A necklace is made of star iron, $5000 gp, mose grabs it
- More rust monsters come out as Quin pulls out a flail, they run away when he puts it back.
- We see a frozen rust monster body at the "cold-damaged" entryway.
- Quinalin and Mose throw a rust monster corpse up the entryway and get blasted painfully by cone-of-cold breath weapon. Kimika and Al spread heals.
- Turns out hydra breathes ice breath
- Party decides that they'll sleep, rest, and tomorrow rush in to get hydra heads (for blood usage).
2 Period of Renewal
Heroic Hydra Head Heist
- Buffs are spread around and preparations begin:
- LE gives blurs to Mose and Quinalin, and stat buffs to Quinalin
- Germain gives haste to Mose, Quinalin, and healers.
- Kimika casts Prayer, and prepares to spam distant heals.
- Al gives Protection from Energy to Mose and Quinalin so they can survive some breath weapons.
- Quinalin creates a sturdy barricade so fighters can use armor/weapons without rust monsters coming through
- Battle begins:
- Al waits outside barricade to keep rust monsters away. LE, Germain, and Kimika stay just outside of Cryohydra den.
- Mose charges in, makes good rolls dodging hydra heads and soaking breath weapon.
- Mose makes a great sunder roll, hydra rolls a 1 to contest. Hydra decapitated!
- Mose makes a great dex check to catch the first hydra head that fell to the ground.
- Quinalin tumbles in successfully dodging attacks of opportunity!
- Quinalin sunders a head and makes his dex check to capture it.
- Mose withdraws and takes some damage during the retreat
- Quinalin withdraws and hydra lucks out to do some solid opportunistic attacks
- Team members escape back into the cave
- Mose is forced to cut off his armor to leave hydra cave quickly
- Party successfully escapes with two Cryohydra heads!

- Al acquires lizard man tattoo, it takes the place of bracers forever
