Grimm Gallant, the fallen Dwarven Traveler, resides inside Nia-Agliare, maintaining some control there while more-or-less attending Arekson as one of the five members of The Cartel. Grimm was part of the original Traveler contingent sent by the Church to protect travelers along the Traveler's Highway that terminates here. What caused his turnabout is unknown, but his change appears to be absolute. He has taken to wearing all black armor, decorating his armor with skulls and teeth, and - if rumors are to be believed - taken up the heretic rites of the old gods (Marwynn has surmised, from her knowledge of the old Testimonials, that this describes a Blackguard). Grimm controls the Traveler's road, although the half dozen or so remaining travelers might contest that point. Additionally, he is responsible for Nia-Agliare's city gates, and the entry fees taken at the gate flow into his coffers. Grimm additionally controls the plains between the city and the Riverlands, which provide some of the city's food supply. Levan Absold believes that Grimm Gallant is not, in fact, an independent actor, but is instead a puppet of Arekson.
