The http://www.d20srd.org/srd/improvingMonsters.htm Improving Monsters] section of the SRD doesn't say anything about them getting stat points for HD, so I'm not giving TP one. HP was figured by 8-1 + 3, but I could do the SRD monster HP method of (((1 + 8)/2) + 3)*4 to get 30 instead. -Slitherrr

Heh, I just realized that this HD increase basically makes him a Heavy Warhorse with better movement. -Slitherrr

I think I want to invest in some barding for the guy. Kib's weight is 195, plus 60ish in gear (chainmail is heavy!), putting his total horse load at 255, leaving 45 pounds for barding to keep at a light load (if Kib manages to score a Mithral breasplate, this will jump up to 70 available). Barding options are then:

: Barding will be easy enough to find, either back in Kred (which you just left and we can retcon since I missed this) or... whatever the town your going to is called. You can get it with close to zero wait time. -gm

:Note, neither Tenpence nor the Ghost Elk has light armor proficiency. In practice, this means no non-MW studded leather, or non-mithral chain shirt (which, btw, would cost 4200 gp, and probably isn't a great investment for +1 AC) -slitherrr (talk)

One thing we could consider is changing him to the "advanced horse" template here: . That will overall improve his stats, but it lowers his HP, which is really the one thing I worry about with Tenpence. It is probably not worth worrying about. -Slitherrr

Pathfinderization

[1]

 • Light warhorse goes away. He is now a Light Horse, with the combat training purpose. This incidentally cancels out the effect of the Docile ex ability (i.e., his hooves can be treated as primary attacks rather than just as secondary)
 • Dex and Cha both go up a point (reflex and AC reflect the Dex change)
 • The default HD goes down to 2 from 3. I don't know if this means we want to keep Tenpence at 4 HD, or put him down to 3. The stats listed assume him still at 4
 • BaB and associated attacks go down a point
 • Feats and special abilities stay the same.
 • Speed goes down to 50' (I'm sad about this)

One thing we could consider is changing him to the "advanced horse" template here: [2]. That will overall improve his stats, but it lowers his HP, which is really the one thing I worry about with Tenpence. It is probably not worth worrying about. -Slitherrr
