GermainToken.PNG Germain is a recent citizen of Wydmoor who quickly rose to prominence during his tenure of Edrell's City Guard. At present, he is still working closely with Edrell, but is also establishing a relationship with the Bog Wraiths. He is an attractive human in his early twenties, yet despite his youth he carries himself with a powerful presence. He demonstrates a commanding demeanor, and has shown himself to capable of controlling social situations through charm, subterfuge, and intimidation alike. His quick social skills are supported by an equally sharp attentiveness and awareness, as well as an impressive and broad knowledge of local, regional, and national information.

In combat, Germain has been a helpful and well-trained, but by no means impressive, ally. He is clearly a tactically competent fighter, and he knows how to handle himself on the battlefield. This training, however, mostly serves to mitigate his utterly unimpressive physique. As a result, he aids his companions through tactical positioning (flank!) and combat maneuvers (aid another!), using his quick and strategic mind to bolster or protect his allies. Without his allies, he prefers to avoid combat altogether, largely out of necessity.

Germain is tight-lipped about his history before Wydmoor, but as he has grown closer with the party, he has opened up about his past. He has revealed that his father is an ambitious military governor in a Fresian border town, and his mother is a deposed Flannarian noble. His father was successful and popular in his position, and thus Germain grew up quite privileged. As a young man, he frequently accompanied his father on various peacekeeping and military actions, and showed promising leadership skills during these activities.

Despite Germain's promising life, he chaffed under his parent's yoke, and became an impediment to their political ambitions. Like his parents, he was as bull-headed as he was capable, and he clashed frequently with them as he grew into adulthood. Although he was never held legally accountable for his shady extracurricular activities, his father decided to send Germain away to college to curb the bad press he was generating. After completing his studies at the Ubrekti University, he returned home briefly, but eventually decided to seek his fortunes elsewhere in Wydmoor Free City.

Germain's history before arriving in Wydmoor is relatively unknown, and he is notably vague about his background. His education, sharp attire, and confident bearing strongly indicate a privileged upbringing. His speech, looks, and mannerisms show him to be of Flannarian or Fresian decent, but it is difficult to place him clearly in either region. When asked directly about his history, he reveals only that his family is powerful in a way that has made them both enemies and allies, and that it is not in his best interest to be associated with them.

During the recent months, Germain has been sticking close with Al, assisting him during the day-to-day survival tasks of the party. He has been a capable study, and has become a budding naturalist and tracker. More impressive than his novice outdoorsmanship, however, has been his quick rapport with the animal world. Given his social expertise, it is perhaps not surprising that he has shown a natural aptitude for the body language and social behaviors of the wild kingdom. He's pretty comfortable around your horse/dog/fox, and they are pretty comfortable around him!
